Carrick Excelsior Pinot Noir 2019

Named for the coal seam which was mined during the goldrush and lies beneath the Carrick vineyards, the Excelsior is our finest expression of Pinot Noir.

The wine is aged in barrel for 18 months, then bottled without fining. It is contemplative, complex, layered, earthy, intense and persistent.

"Fantastic bouquet of complexity and promise with aromas of synergy, soils and carefully selected new barrels, ripe red berry fruit scents and baking spices. Taut, youthful, flinty and savoury with dried herbs and toasty barrels spices, wild thyme and cherry flesh, raspberry and roasted cashew nut from new barrel. Layers of polished tannins and medium+ acidity add texture and length on the palate carried on a wave of acidity."
